WHAT IS POP ERROR?

If it were in the dictionary, it’d probably read:

pop er.ror [pop ěr'ər]
n.

A persona that embodies years of non-conformity, the belief in self above all else, the triumph of DIY, the cynical eye that examines intent over nature, the liberation of creative expression, the overriding of routine living, the obsessive compulsive order, the reign of love and irreligion.

It is the antonym of those who

1. snigger at others for being different,
2. are imprisoned by society’s walls of normality,
3. follow like sheep,

Migratory Routes.

Was born (1982) in Malacca, a World Heritage City that’s popular for the origin of the Peranakan culture.

Grew up in Malacca (2 years), Singapore (1 year) and Selangor (over 20 years).

Ultimately sick of Malaysia (corruption, racism, high crime rate), moved to Singapore in 2007 as a Permanent Resident, happily residing near Little India ever since.

Indulgences.

Exotic pets, Japanese figurines, vintage wear, designing, cutting own/friend’s hair, swimming, scuba diving, surfing, photography.

Career.

My job is to make the new familiar, and the familiar new. I’m a copywriter. I conceptualise ad campaigns. I write beautiful lines.

2003: Graduated RMIT Melbourne.
